We’ve had a few double date nights in a row! Dubs and trips, actually.
Date Night #7: We tried Mio, which was delightful. Great Latin food and fabulous decor (the same architects who designed the new Teaism!).
Date Night #8: After a failed attempt at Little Serow (we’ll save that one for a week night!), we ended up tooling around Adams Morgan and finally landed at Mintwood Place. The ambiance was nice, but it was PACKED to the gills and our waiter wasn’t great at hiding his level of stress. The food was good. Worth a return trip me thinks.
Date Night #9: We had two date nights this weekend! One was at our new “old” faithful not far from the crib spot: Cafe Caturra. Good wine, great salads and soups and nice vibe. Then we found ourselves at Belga Cafe on Saturday night for some serious mussels. And wine. And dessert. Oopsies. Date night can be hard on the waist line!
Date Night #6!
Oh hai! How the weeks are flying by. We ate lots of BBQ’d pork from a massive piece of aluminum foil last night. For dinner. At a restaurant! With a really nice, fancy glass of wine (fancy beer for husband). It was a fun little spot - a new joint in Del Ray, VA. Maybe one day we shall live there. Not in the BBQ joint, but perhaps down the road.
Next stop in Del Ray will be the new & improved Evening Star Cafe!
Date night! Four and five, but I didn’t remember to take a pic of #4. Rattums!
Four: Ardeo Bardeo with the parental units, which meant it wasn’t really a date. The food, however, was phenomenal. And a very fun, lively ambience. But then we went to Ripple, just the two of us, for some cocktails and beets with roasted walnuts. It was cozy, thereby solidifying date night.
Five: New place in town! And by “town” I mean the burbs. Sigh. William Jeffry’s Tavern. It was pretty much just a chain-ish feeling bar with relatively good food. Lovely bartender and some tasty Chincoteague oysters, so we may be back.
Date night #3! Jack Rose Tavern in Adams Morgan. Pre-cupcake wars nourishment. Pretty tasty and a super cozy ambience. Husband gave it a thumbs down due to overall quality of food and the fact that he’s not a whiskey man… But I think we’ll be back. Next snow storm! And we still need to check out the upstairs deck.

2. Groothies in the morning. Muscle Milk Light powder, spinach, banan, ice, blend.
3. This video inspires me but would likely cause my spinal column to self-combust.
4. Date night. Where to go tonight? We are eating cupcakes for a good cause afterwards.
5. My new mini browser Opera on my iPhone.
I shall be riding my bike tomorrow. Eek.
